Gun turn in program chicago
Quoted: I see. Quoted: I wish I was closer. Quoted: Quoted: I see. I had to leave this for them How about a turn in a criminal day or week or year. I am pretty sure if you convict people and make them serve time, especially those who commit the worst crimes, and make it "hard time" so terrible that the thought of doing anything stupid enough to go back just might be a deterent. For those who commit crimes as evil as murder, not to be confused with self defense, rape, especially in cases against minors, try the death penalty.
I hear there are very few repeat offenders. How many of the guns that are turned in do you think actually belong to the individual who brings it forth? I have actually put a gun on daily for quite a few years and I have never had to grab it before it could jump out of my holster and find an unlucky victim.
If you had the ability to get rid of all of them I seriously doubt that the rate of crime would be signifigantly less. It is wishfull thinking. If the bad guy wants to hurt or kill someone and he can't find a gun, do you think he is going to say to himself,"I guess I can't do that bad stuff because I don't have a gun. I live in a remote area, thankfully not in a place like your big city or any city for that matter, and I can't think of the last time I had to call on or count on law enforement to respond for an emergency.
Hopefully I never will have to because the response time would probably be more than 5 minutes, probably closer to How long does it take for someone to attack another person, hurting them or possibly killing them? Let me ponder that for a minute If a person is too ignorant to teach his or her child proper firearm safety, than don't have one or the other.
My children started shooting at about 5 years old and either of them have any problems with "reason". When you don't expose something to them they will get curious and that is the fault of the parents, not the gun. Blaming guns for causing violence is like about like blaming banks for being robbed. Seriously, if you think taking away one form of weapon will end violence than you may as well ban fast food for the sake of overweight people, close all forms of credit cards and credit lines for the sake of all the financially irresponsible people, and maybe even ban high end goods like nice cars, stereos, home entertainment systems so that people to lazy to "work" for things wouldn't have to steal them.
Did you notice that the common denominator in all the above is "people", not the inanimate objects. I apologize for anything spelled incorrectly ahead of time, just thought you could use someones' take who refuses to be a victim and doesn't try to place blame on anyone or anything that is not deserving. Thank you and good luck with your song and dance for all the sheep!
Quoted: Those fools really think they're making a difference! Guns are involved in most of the homicides in Chicago, including violence against children. Of the total murders in Chicago in , 82 percent were committed with a gun and 60 percent were gang-related Hope the bloods and crips are gonna come turn in their Gats.
Since these are usually no questions asked affairs, what's to keep someone ffrom turning a murder weapon so that the police dispose of it for them? Quoted: Fuck Shitcago and its retard in charge Daley. Quoted: Wow. Make some investment casting molds with a master from silicone rubber and start cranking out zinc frames and shit. Walk up to the "buyback" booth with a wheelbarrow of shitty, unusable frames and walk away with a couple grand in pre-paid debit card. I think the obvious answer is to ban crime.
Why aint I a mayor and shit? Oh wait that's not at a gun show, and PTP sales should be legal. Just like all other things you could sell and legally own. I am simply saving innocent people who don't know any better from getting ripped off by the meany police. I remember that thread, or at least him talking about it.
I have a pre-OT orange tip that looks very real. I would part with it in exchange for cash towards a real one. Exactly, giving them guns to use as statistics is not worth it. I think it's fine if a person intentionally games the system for profit. I understand where you're coming from but not patronizing this crap is not going to cause them to give up, pack their shit and go home.
I still respect your view and can sympathize to a degree. I can't sell or give away the pieces that I would trade for one simple reason: They are dangerous and not in firing condition. If they weren't less than worthless, I'd keep them.
So this stuff can clutter up my safe for eternity as it has been or I could trade it for cash to my sworn enemy to put towards something I actually want in my safe. Those people are going to be smug self-serving dickholes that think they've "made a difference" one way or the other.
I feel the same way. I'd rather throw the junk guns off the back of a fishing boat in the Gulf than turn them into a buy-back program. If they get the guns off the streets they won't need cops at all. How old? Might be cool to hang up around the house. That should be a sign at the event.
See how fast they change their tune. But that would just be stealing from taxpayers. Lets them sleep better at night. Chicago School Closings. Northwestern Falls To Maryland In Double Overtime Eric Ayala finished with career highs of 26 points and 11 rebounds and Fatts Russell scored 13 of his 23 points after regulation to help Maryland fend off Northwestern in double overtime on Wednesday night.
And man, I must say — what an ending it was! More than guns were turned in during the CPD event where people were given gift cards in exchange for guns. CBS 2's Asal Rezaei reports. The funds can be used for home ownership or home repairs.
A group of volunteers is asking you to bring it to them instead.
