Decrypting a file in unix
It is designed to overcome the shortcomings of standard unix crypt utility. This is the default mode. If filename arguments are given, encrypt the files and append the suffix. Otherwise, run as a filter. If filename arguments are given, decrypt the files and strip the suffix. If no filename arguments are given, decrypt as a filter. Implies -l. In this mode, ccrypt prompts for two passwords: the old one and the new one. If filename arguments are given, modify the files. Can anyone tell me how to decrypt the file?
Join Date: Dec You have not provided sufficient information for anybody to be able to help you. For example, do you know what encryption method was used to encrypt the file? Do you know what type of plaintext is in the file? ASCII, binary or what? I have no idea about the type of encryption or type of text the file contains.
