I think you have to check the plugins folder to make sure everything is gone. I'd like to figure out how to get rid of the Google search in the upper right.
I have my home page set to Google so it's redundent. Joined: Jan 4, Posts: 4, CloneRanger , Oct 21, Joined: Jun 2, Posts: You'll need to make sure they're gone from your 'profile' folder. AdBlock Plus has its own folder there.
Can't say about WOT. Which randomly-named folders there contain Adblock Plus and WOT can be determined by looking inside them, in the contents of the 'chrome' or 'components' folders.
Once that determination is made, you'll want to delete the entire relevant randomly-named folder. Then startup and shut down Firefox once. Maybe even restart the whole computer after that. At that point, you should be able install your 'new' extensions and have them at original default settings. This malware can be adware, that displays adverts all over your screen, ransomware, which demands you pay to have it removed, or a virus that prevents your Mac from working properly or even steps your personal data.
For the reason, you should be careful when you download and install extensions and make sure that you know where they come from and that they are safe. There are lots of other reasons you may want to remove a browser extension, such as the fact that outdated extensions can cause problems for your browser or slow down your Mac. As with extensions for other browsers, Firefox add-ons live in your user Library folder in the Finder.
In addition to allowing you to easily scan for and remove malware, CleanMyMac X makes it easy to get rid of browser extensions. This is important because if one of the extensions you just deleted was used to deliver malicious code, that code will already be on your Mac and may remain after you delete the extension. If it does find malware, it will list it. You should run the malware scan regularly, say once a month, because even if you have nothing to worry about now, you download something nasty in the future.
One of the ways in which bad extensions and other malware cause harm is by infringing on your privacy and stealing personal data from cookies, caches and other files stored by web browsers.
CleanMyMac makes it simple to delete these files and improve your security. It can track down and get rid of browser history, autofill data, and cookies. If the Uninstall Wizard does not run, you can start it manually by running helper. Click the Windows Start button or press the Windows key. In the Start Menu, click Control Panel. In the Control Panel window, click the Uninstall a program link under the Programs section.

The Control Panel window will open. Note: The following applies to Windows The global way: Method 1. This will stop Firefox from scanning the registry to load plugins. Some of your plugins will disappear.
The problem with Method 1 is it may not whack all plugins. This sucks, of course, as you will get no video in your Firefox on most sites Just navigate to the directory, and rename the.
And Method 3: You can also, for some plugins, tweak the minimum version number inside the Firefox "about:config" parameter blatherfile, to some level that is really high. That will just prevent the plugin from loading.
This is a good way to disable the Microsoft Windows Media Player plugin stuff. In my version of Firefox version Again, this is in "about:config", in the list of parameters that show up after searching for "plug". You highlight the parameter, press right click, and then select the "Modify" option to change the value from "7.
