Built to a price, for sure. The frequency response can be tightened up significantly, just by attending to the EQ time-constants.

Clearly they got this wrong; one can only speculate as to why. Flip-up hum shield would actually be more useful on the replay head instead of the record!

Wrapping midi modules and the patch bays thru the holes with that rope and with tape.
